Health IT Innovation: Funding Resource Map Workshop
Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EDT)
The MaRS Health IT client network is challenged to raise capital to sustain the long journey to revenue. One of the main roadblocks facing Ontario startups when they’re trying to expand is their inability to fund development and validation projects in a live hospital or care setting. Though there are a number of funding sources supporting the development of technology within universities and hospitals, few known funding sources support the private sector in HIT.
We have scoped the problem and built an initial mapping of funds, identifying additional options for how to move HIT projects forward from stage to stage. We have also engaged stakeholders who have navigated this space in leadership positions and will offer a few learned insights that will be helpful for entrepreneurs.
This event is produced as part of a major initiative called the Health IT Innovation forum, which will launch with a conference on June 7-8, 2012.
